Beautiful property and well appointed modern rooms. I would request a room that is not on the ground floor.

We enjoyed it but..

We had a room facing the back, it was quite and clean, great large bathroom, the location is super central in Valleta, all attractions and restaurants just minutes away. Could be improved: 1. The most annoying is that internet keeps disconnecting every 30 mins or so and you need to reconnect. 2. The window in the room was in the corner and opened to a view of noisy pipes, so basically the room felt like it has no window. 3. The bed and pillows could be a bit more comfortable. 4. During the breakfast you need to ask the suff to serve you any food - how many pieces of cheese, bread... that takes some time if there are few people in breakfast and you just want to get salt or butter. That might be due to covid restrictions, the stuff do wear gloves, but I feel better if I take the food with my own hands rather than them picking it up with the same gloves the handle all guests dishes.

This hotel is great in just about every way but has one flaw- there is virtually no noise insulation. This meant neither my partner or I got a descent night sleep on any of the four nights. At around 4:30am every morning we were woken up to the sound of the daily bin collection. We were second floor up too. The underlying cause is the window- it had air gaps to the point where you could see light between the frame even when it was closed- on a night of rain we woke up to water in front of it. I get double glazing is probably not permitted on this building type but failing that a secondary glazing unit would easily resolve. Just to reiterate we were impressed with everything else about the hotel- the cleanliness, the location, the staff, the breakfast, everything else about the room. However, the primary reason we book a hotel is to sleep, and from that point of view it was terrible due to the noise. For this reason, I could not recommend unfortunately.

Brilliant hotel & location - breakfast average

Everything was excellent including the location apart from the breakfast. The food and drink was average. Maybe because of COVID self service wasn’t available instead we had to point at what we wanted and the waitress put the items on a tray - awkward. Staff brilliant and very helpful.

Perfect Stay

We loved our 3 night stay at the Palazzo Paolina Boutique hotel. The reception staff were really lovely and very helpful. Aleksandra pre-booked a taxi from the airport for us which made it very quick and easy to get to the hotel. Our room was a good size, very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast had plenty of choice with both hot and cold food which set us up for our days exploring the beautiful city. The hotel is also in a very good location and all the attractions and restaurants are well within walking distance. We would not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit.

Best Boutique Hotel

First the location is perfect. We stayed at Palazzo Paolina before and after a cruise. The hotel is in the center of Valletta and close to everything we wanted to do. The staff was lovely and helped us with everything. We lost luggage on the way over and had to find a place to do covid testing coming back. The staff felt like family. They arranged taxis for us. They referred us to a great local tour company to see other parts of Malta. I would give them 10 out of 5 stars. If you like boutique hotels, this is the best.
