Manistee Hotel

This is a great hotel for the money.

Our stay began with the kindest and friendliest gentleman at the front desk. He was very helpful and informative about breakfast and offered extra towels since there were 3 of us. Our reservation requested a 1st floor room and thats what we got close to entrance. The room was clean and beds comfy. Breakfast included waffles which we all enjoyed. This is my 3rd time staying here and I will return.

Great rates and convenient location

Our experience was fantastic. Our check-in was pleasant and informative. The room was bigger than expected, very clean, and quiet with no noise heard from other guests rooms. Breakfast was convenient. We were very pleased with our stay and surprised at the low rates. We will visit again!

Clean but VERY dated.

Staff was wonderful. Rooms were extremely dated but clean. We did have a dead bug on the wall squashed, and we had a bug crawling while we were hanging out. I did have to have the duvet changed because there was food on it. There was no towels in the pool at all you had to bring your own towels. And there was literally two towels and two washcloths in the bathroom. No coffee makers or coffee in the rooms. TV had a line through it.

My wife and I stayed their for 2 nights, the room was cleaned when we arrived and throughout our stay. We did have to ask for extra pillow and for bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths because their wasn't any in the rooms when we checked in but they did apologize because they're behind and got them to us. Overall throughout our stay the bed was comfortable and the room was nice and the hotel Overall was pretty decent. The breakfast that they offered was pretty good as well. The only thing my wife and I would recommend when booking this hotel is that they mention about 100 deposit sooner. Because my wife and I had to pay a 100 deposit which we got back when we checked out. But Overall my wife and I were pleased with the hotel itself and with the staff and our room. My wife and I would definitely stay their again in the future and would recommend this place to anyone!!!!

Would not recommend

I understand this is not a 5 star hotel but I do expect the common courtesy, especially during covid times, to have a clean room when I stay in it. The sheets had weird, red stains on them and hairs from the previous people staying in the room. The pillows and sheets along with the room smelled like mildew and like they have clearly not been washed in a long time. The jacuzzi in the room was absolutely disgusting. It had white stains on the bottom of it along with other darker colored stains. When turning on the jets, white and black specs could be seen coming out. I bought cleaning materials to clean the jacuzzi as that was the only reason i got the room for two nights. The mirror by the jacuzzi was broken, clearly a hazard if someone slipped and fell onto that spot on the glass or if any mishap near the glass happened. Even after cleaning the jacuzzi, the water was still dirty when turning on the jets. It has obviously not been cleaned in awhile. I did not trust the shower either as that too had some crumbs or something else, i have no idea. I also had the pleasure of finding someone else’s very dirty and stinky sock on the floor so that was nice. Im thankful i brought my own blankets and pillows but will definitely be washing them as soon as I get home! Every surface in there was sticky, and seemed to have not been cleaned either. The breakfast is not something i would eat again and it does not taste good. Maybe the waffles and bread are safe but thats about it.
