My stay

The room was a little cold and the duvet to heavy. The toilet was cramped and the seat was loose, which could cause a problem The evening meal was over seasoned for me so had to leave most of it. The breakfast was sparse. The location was perfect, however, there was a lot of road noise.

Fabulous Stay & Doggy Friendly!

Staff attentive and friendly, food was lovely, whole place was very clean and tidy, the room we stayed in would benefit from having a fresh coat of paint, other than that we had everything we needed including a coffee machine, nice clean linen & towels & toiletries, even home made biscuits! VERY dog friendly, they get treats, water bowls, dog baskets, even free poo bags!! Hotel is a 10 min walk to Highclere Castle.Our stay was lovely and would definitely stay again & recommend, Thankyou.!

Excellent stay

Brilliant and friendly service. Lovely room with a great selection of teas, alternative milks and even a small coffee machine. Good selection of (paid for) snacks available in room too. Booked in for our evening meal, beautiful food with great vegan options, as well as breakfast too. Really enjoyed our stay

Nice enough

Was nice enough just had a little problem with the room being cold and nowhere to put toiletries, packet milk (which I’m not a big fan of ) I found the menu what I would say is more for the elite taste ! And expensive.

Carnarvon Arms, Hotel and Restaurant nr Highclere

Although sandwiched between 2 busy roads there was little traffic noise in the rooms. Everything was excellent - rooms, beds, linen, and towels, food - both breakfast and evening and all staff were friendly, helpful and contributed to an very enjoyable visit to Highclere Castle of Downton Abbey fame which is less than a mile down the road.

For a small town like Highclere, I didn’t have that much of expectation, but I was proven wrong right when I walked through the door! Not only the staff was friendly, attentive, but the pub/restaurant part was absolutely lovely and the room was filling with all kinds of goodies, even two pints of wine on the house! I enjoyed my first time stay that I decided to stay another night.

We loved it!

Really enjoyable, lovely staff and the food was great, especially the breakfast. The only downside was the shower was rather cramped but that wasn’t a major issue on what was an enjoyable couple of nights away

Fabulous inn a stone’s throw from Highclere

Stayed with my girlfriends for a night and enjoyed lunch, dinner & breakfast. Food was excellent as was the super friendly service. ALL of the staff were brilliant. Rooms were really well appointed, just needed a few touch ups, but bed was comfy, a joy to have big white towels and loved the homemade shortbread in a jar with the tea.
