We recently stayed at the Harrison Hall Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland, and overall had a very enjoyable experience. The hotel is definitely older compared to many of the others along the boardwalk, and that’s evident in some of the building’s features—like the smaller rooms and a very compact elevator that can get backed up during check-in or check-out times.
That said, the charm of this historic property more than made up for those minor inconveniences. The pool area was a definite highlight, especially with the added bonus of a poolside bar that opens at 4 p.m.—a great spot to relax after a beach day.
The front porch with its rocking chairs was a personal favorite. Sitting out there in the evenings, looking out at the ocean, was incredibly relaxing and really added to the classic beach-town vibe. The lobby and porch areas also provided great space for both kids and adults to hang out and unwind.
While the rooms were smaller than expected, they were clean and functional—understandable given the age of the building. If you’re looking for a modern hotel with all the bells and whistles, this might not be your pick. But if you appreciate character, convenience, and a laid-back beach atmosphere, Harrison Hall is a solid choice.
