Nice grounds and location but needs renovation

Ok stay but hotel dated and expected more for this price at this location. Positives: - Grounds, location and external building are nice - Friendly bar staff - Warm cooked breakfast - Excellent breakfast staff - Bed is comfortable - Toiletries were nice - Desk in room Improvements: - Biggest problem is bathroom. Horribly outdated, missing parts, water pressure horrible, mould smell, lino on floor - 2nd biggest problem the "business centre" refers to working from the lobby. - Reception staff rude or untrained. As we were stuck due to storm asked if there is a bussiness centre and we were told in loud voice "you can pay £xxx for a meeting room". Would've been nicer to have accurate info online and be more polite such as "apologies, there would be a charge for this" - Check-out at 10:30 potentially the earliest in UK - Restaurant food overpriced for what it is: simple pub food. I liked the smaller menu but just the execution and quality ingredients was low and bland not at all like the website photos - We could not find any waiters to order more drinks in the restaurant for quite some time - Breakfast staff started setting up breakfast plates, cutlery and mugs (on bare glass tables!) all around us whilst we were eating dinner around 9pm.. - Upgraded room amenities disappointing - Small TV, no USB ports - Desk lamp flickering - Windows in room not cleaned - In general needs a renovation - Expensive cocktails and limited wine options

I've stayed here before, very nice hotel, lovely location. Room was very nice, could do with decorating. I booked a table and then found that they seemed to have a very limited menu on which was also very expensive. I seemed to have taken their last bottle of beer and I ended up having a way over priced halloumi burger that hadn't had much effort put into it. I tried to complain but the waitress just laughed.... I tried to complain again when I checked out, no explanation was offered, just that food had gone up recently. Seems that this hotel is being run on a shoestring but generally a nice place to stay.

Not a hotel a B&B

I don’t want to be unfair to the hotel, but if you close your restaurant for a couple of weeks then you are no longer a hotel your a bed and breakfast and should market yourself that way! You had no facility for any food. The young girl at reception tried to be helpful but had little opportunity to make a real difference, well done to here for trying anyway. I would not have booked you if I had realised you was just a B&B!

Great Room

the room was great, the bed was massive, it was quiet which is a major plus. Customer service was okay but I was left standing in reception whilst the staff continued their conversation.
