Hotel 'NOT NICE'

It's called hotel nice but it should be called hotel 'not nice'. If you are happy to be woken up in the morning with a extremely loud banging sound coming from the cafe below this is the place for you! We told reception on our first night and they denied knowing of any noise and didn't offer to move us rooms or anything. Speaking to other guests at breakfast they all said they could hear it and woke them up too, i would not recommend staying here! We even checked out early because we just couldn't deal with the noise any longer. If you're looking for a relaxing stay in Sorrento I advise not to stay here!

Nice,...but could use a little updating...

Sorrento is a great place to have a home base while visiting other places like the Amalfi coast and Pompeii, etc. The hotel staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is nice. Unfortunately my tiny room was outdated, was facing on the main street (thank God for ear plugs!), and the shower sprayed water in every direction except downwards! The hotel can use some upgrading. But overall I found the people of Sorrento fun and very friendly. It's a beautiful little town. This hotel is a stone's throw from the train station and does have a great outdoor terrace.

We booked & prepaid for 2 nights thru Expedia but after checking in, needed to shorten our stay to 1 night. The day we checked in, we asked front desk if we could cancel 2nd night for a refund & were told it would be "no problem." Just to be sure, I called Expedia that day, & Exp called hotel front desk to independently confirm that it would be ok to cancel 2nd night & get a refund. Exp said the person they spoke to at front desk said he wasn't the mgr and couldn't confirm that I could cancel. When I checked out the following day, I asked the (different) man at the front desk named Alfonso if it was OK if I cancelled the 2nd night. At first he misunderstood me & thought I was asking if there were any vacancies for that night & said "we are fully booked" [hotel is conveniently located near Sorrento train station] -- so I don't think there was any problem with hotel finding someone else to take my room. I clarified that I wanted to cancel night #2 & get a refund & Alfonso also said "no problem." After I returned to the US I called Expedia again. They said they still hadn't heard back from hotel but had a record that I had called Expedia the day I checked in, and told me that when Exp. had called the hotel, someone named Julio at front desk changed the dates of my stay in their system but needed to get authorization to process my refund. Later that day Exp said hotel still refused to refund me the 2nd nite, but Exp refunded me! Bravo, Expedia! Moral: get it in writing!!

All staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant recommendations were always great. Rooms were clean, bright and comfortable. Located in the middle of Sorrento.

Very centrally located hotel in Sorrento.

Hotel was lovely, brilliant location just 2 mins walk from train and bus station. We booked economy room and it was in the 3rd floor, our friends were in 2nd floor and it was so much nicer. There is no pool but we knew this when booking and found it a drawback as weather was so hot. We went down to beach and hired sun beds for €15 for the day. When we arrived at hotel we were disappointed with our room when we saw our friends room, we asked if we could change to 2nd floor, they offered us a room on 2nd floor and told us it would be smaller than the one we had so we decided not to move and it didn’t impact on our holiday at all, staff were extremely courteous friendly helpful and nice. Breakfast was very tasty and a lovely choice available. All in all we had a lovely stay.

The room size is good. However the bathroom is extremely small.

Excellent Property

Very neat and tidy property. We had a very comfortable stay. Location of the property is icing on the cake.

Good location

Good location, right near the train station and walking distance to most places. Tiny shower and I’m petite. Average breakfast. Book room away from the front of the hotel......very noisy in the evening to the early morning. Location can’t the beaten.

I enjoyed staying at Hotel Nice in Sorrento. I really felt at home. This is a small hotel and in a great location - just a short walk from Sorrento Train Station and Sorrento Town Centre (Piazza Tasso). All the staff could not have not have been nicer, helpful or more friendly - from housekeeping to the breakfast staff, but especially, the daytime and night time receiption staff. They were great. Rooms were excellent - clean, comfortable and the bed was perfect. The bathroom was lovely. The only downside was the width of the door entering the spacious shower - it was a bit narrow for me. Other than that, the hotel was excellent and one of the best things about my 4 day trip to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. Good value for money. Well done to everyone and "Thank You" for a great stay.
