Grand Canyon Railway Hotel

Underwhelming

I checked in and no one smiled. It’s says if they didn’t wanna be there. They were just there to get their job done. Once I got my room I went to my room and laid on the bed and it felt like the bed mattress was from 1992. They had a Buffet that I didn’t want to eat so the cashier who by the way was the nicest out of all of them said go to our Spencers or pub they have food. When I got there I said I’d like to see your food menu and she said oh we’re not serving food today Because our cooked didn’t show up. So I walked downtown and ate down there. So overall I would give this hotel at three. I stay there two nights and wish I had stayed somewhere else.

Give her a raise!

Dont remember the name of the woman we encountered, however, she explained to us she was the supervisor for the hotel. We saw her doing so many other jobs that we lost count! please give this woman a big raise!!! she was amazing and full of excitement no matter what she was doing. She was everywhere from outside, to indoors.

Grand Canyon visit

Good place to stay for location near most of the available activities to visit downtown Williams. The train ride was ok for the experience, not enough time for a good visit at the canyon.

The hotel is well kept, clean and comfortable. People were pleasant to deal with. Restaurants in the hotel had good food, not great but worth the money. Grand Canyon brewing is within walking distance and recommended. The town goes for the Route 66 vibe, some people refer to it as radiator springs. The train to the Grand Canyon from the hotel is awesome. Make sure to eat at the Long Horn Saloon, wonderful outdoor or indoor seating and their steak and ribs were excellent. Hotel is close to Bearizona wildlife park and a mountain cart/rollercoaster ride that has incredible views.

Very clean and quiet; comfortable bed. Very large facility. Am Assuming they are understaffed. Check-in time consuming ( b/c info exchange regarding train for some.) Restaurant pub very busy, very long wait for food, and our food was flat out bad. Convenient place if you’re taking train otherwise would stay somewhere else

Nice stay bouncy mattress

Overall stay went well. One issue was the mattresses. They are too soft and “bouncy”. For the price of the room you may want to upgrade to a quality mattress.

Bring your pillow.

Recommend bringing own pillows. We each used three apiece on first night of four night stay, and they were so flat we all woke up with neck issues or couldn’t sleep at all. We ended up purchasing some from Dollar General and that corrected the issue. That is the one and only negative I have to mention.
