Snorkeling is the best there, we saw a massive tortuous and you can see whale sharks. Tanote bay was our fave. No entry fee and a cliff jump rock

Koh Tao is a beautiful island. Sairee beach is a young peoples resort but far from rowdy. Great beach bars and restaurants

Such a beautiful fantastic island. So many nice beaches, and diving options. Highly recommend to rent a scooter.

Unfortunately getting like the other islands in terms of getting more commercial and starting to lose the Thai relaxed feel on the island. Restaurants now catering for Italian and western tastes rather than there own and what most want to experience

If you want to go diving or partying then Ko Tao is for you. If you prefer a beach holiday then Ko Samui is probably better & shopping then Bangkok ! Ko Tao (& Ko Samui) are a lot more expensive than Bangkok eg 80-200 per meal vs 40-100 per meal.

If you're not diving (scuba or free) or partying, there's not a lot more to do, but that's exactly what we came for so absolutely loved it!

A beautiful island focusing mainly on diving, and all the better for it.
"Stayed in the triple room - was lovely and spacious. Everything was so clean. Loved the swimming area and beach bar!! The staff were so friendly and helpful too for booking tours! "
"Lovely hotel. Beautiful surroundings. We had the 2 bed royal suite which was wonderful, specious, and had stunning views. Direct access to the sea where we saw sharks and turtles. Great cocktails by the pool. "
"I fell in love with the hotel. Its location was perfect, away from the city & night life noise, right on the beach, with delicious breakfast included, and most importantly only three minutes away from the Coral Grand Divers PADI office. The service was amazing. Drinks and snacks were included in the room bar, daily shuttle to and from the city. We forgot one of the backpacks in the shuttle when going to a different island, and they delivered it to us before we started boarding the ferry. I’d give them A+ and def would stay there again and recommend it to others. "
"You can get a free transfer to and from the pier which is super helpful. The hotel is massive and the restaurant breakfast/ food was really nice. It is in a great Location and there is lots to do round it. The hotel restaurant also has entertainment in the evening and the bands were really great. The views are in incredible from the pool near the gym. No pressure if you don’t want to do the diving. "
"It is a beautiful resort amazing food a big variety to order and very well priced accommodation is excellent the snorkeling is the best on the island "
"We really enjoyed our stay at the Tarna. Decent breakfast spread without being overly fancy. The free shuttle to and from town (and to and from the ferry) was greatly appreciated. The onsite dive school was excellent and we had great dives with them. The fact that their equipment is in great condition and they have their own traning pool at the hotel were big pluses. We had a room with its own pool, which we really enjoyed - But be aware that these rooms are all facing onto the construction site next door. I estimate that it will be ongoing for at least another year (we stayed in April 2025). To be fair it wasn't that intrusive, but I think potential guests should know about it."
