DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago - Schaumburg

Service was very poor. This isn’t what I expected from a double tree hotel. There was no coffee in the room or the lobby. The two gentlemen we dealt with during our stay didn’t care and certainly didn’t mean the standards we’re used to from a Hilton hotel.

The AC was broken and it stayed about 80 in my room all night. Very uncomfortable

Loved the beautiful, cozy, warm, and inviting room decor. The bed and the pillows were so comfortable and wonderful.

Our stay was good overall, we were surprised by the size of the king suite, it was HUGE! Lots of room, including a table to eat meals at, which was great since COVID we ordered all meals to be delivered. The room was clean. One note that would have been nice to know at check in, no housekeeping or any linens/towels in room. You have to call down for towels or pick them up everyday. Also, no housekeeping, which we were fine with, but would have been nice to be told and not figure it out and have to ask. We collected our own garbage and put it in the hall for pick up. When you walked in the front door of the hotel, there was a horrible smell, almost musty/basement smell. Hotel seemed to adhere to COVID guidelines, and everything was clean. Front desk staff - there were 5 different people throughout our stay- were all borderline rude. Not welcoming at all. Anytime we asked a question we got a vibe that we were inconveniencing them. There was one lady (didn’t get her name) that was extremely welcoming and nice. The indoor pool was nice, but water was extremely cold, (they said it was heated) my 4 year old shivered the whole time and his lips were blue after about a half hour of swimming. For premium internet you are charged $4.99 per day, which you basically have to purchase if you use any device other than a phone. If this hotel made a few small tweaks, it would be our new go to when in town.

Receptionist was the rudest person I have ever seen in any hotels. During checking in and checking out I thought was was going to attack me and punch me. He had an angry face and clearly he did not willing to help guesses to check in. Even one simple question I asked got an angry response. I needed to use a pen. Seemed like I made a mistake by asking a simple question.

Everything was wonderful.Once you walked into the hotel, all you smelt was cleanliness especially for this virus outbreak. The staff were extremely friendly. We'll definitely come back when we're in town
