Genoa was once the wealthiest city in the region, and now is a hidden gem for those willing to look for it. Exploring the residences that served popes and other higher ups in the past and the churches are a marvel. Just watch out for pickpockets.

A bit less touristy. Genoa feels a bit more like unvarnished Italy - gritty, lots of grafitti but not offensive. Wonderful and easy city to explore. We also rented a 19 foot power boat and explore Genoa from the water - loved that!!

Often overlooked city with a lovely safe feel with a walkable citte storico and easy to use metro system. And, at the porto antico there is Eataly to experience.

I had read that Genova was kind of an out of the way destination. It has a beautiful harbor area with a beautiful aquarium and it was nice to find an Eataly near the aquarium. Visit it before it becomes overrun with tourists like Dubrovnik did.

Really surprised with the historical treasures and meaningfulness of the Genova city. Enjoyed every minute there.
"A clean and upscale hotel with very helpful staff! Great location near the train station, and an easy walk into the city center. We enjoyed our stay here and would return. "
"Amazing location right near the port of Genova, restaurants, museums, shops, etc. Love this hotel, staff excellent, breakfast lovely, rooms spacious. "
"Parking was tough but property is not far up a side street connected to the port main road, so we could park at the aquarium public parking and it was very short walk.
Very glad we stayed at this hotel vs others in Genoa downtown once we had walked the city some. This property is in one of the better / cleaner / safer feeling zones. The police station is literally next door so you get to see them pass by on patrol regularly.
The pizza place directly across the street had excellent pizza as well."
"The rooms were wonderful. The staff was quite nice and made us feel welcome. The hotel itself felt safe. It was a bit tricky to drive to get in, as we passed it and that leads into the airport. A nice man helped us back up the one way to be in front of the hotel. There is a gate you need to take a ticket from to park in front of the lobby to do your check in, which was rather odd to us. It has nice underground parking. After that, all went well. "
