Days Inn by Wyndham Rome Downtown

Extremely disappointed

This place is under construction/renovation. The “non-smoking” room smelled strongly of cigarettes; there was a group of 3-4 men in the parking lot stopping incoming cars to “talk” (extremely creepy and scary for a lady traveling alone); the window in my room was covered up on the outside with plastic, so there was no view or daylight, making the whole experience claustrophobic; the granite top on the room desk was cracked all the way through the middle as if someone had sat on it; and, there was what looked like a “burn hole” on the orange-red blanket that was spread at the foot of the bed. The best thing I can say is that the room seemed clean, with the exception of the tub floor. I will NEVER book another room without speaking to the hotel directly and reading many of the most recent reviews. Worst hotel experience EVER!!

Clean, comfortable, disappointing bagged breakfast

This was the second time I've stayed here. The hotel is clean and comfortable, nothing fancy, but the bagged breakfast was a disappointing way to end the stay. The brown bag had an apple, a granola bar, and blueberry muffins in it. If this the permanent plan for breakfast I'll find somewhere else next time.

Hotel was ok. Cleanliness needs some improvement. There were kiss marks and hand prints on the mirror, and the wall had something on it. The bed was clean

This Days Inn was adequate; the room was clean and a good size, the bed was comfortable. But the facility was old and run down. The pool wasn't available. The breakfast was a bag with banana, granola bar and pastry. The noise level on the 3rd floor at 2 a.m. was way over the top. When I walked out my door at 6:30 in the morning, someone was lying asleep on the hall floor by their door, I assume. rough. However, inflation has caused nicer hotel's prices to be $200 and more.

Fantastic Staff

Although parts of the building itself need renovating, I found the staff at this Days Inn to be quite extraordinary. First, Patrick, perhaps the manager (?), I am not sure, was incredibly professional, personable and helpful, from the very beginning of my stay until the absolute end. I had to leave my bags behind the desk early for check-in due to travel mishaps, and he was so friendly, accommodating and easy-going about the process. Extremely hospitable! In addition, one of his colleagues who took another shift, whose name I cannot remember, but who had blond hair, was especially kind and hard-working. One improvement that could be made is to provide envelopes in rooms for tips for housekeeping, (there weren't any), but the housekeeping staff is most deserving of tips for their hard work, and leaving money in the room to make things easier at checkout in an envelope has always made sense to me. (Of course, then again, maybe an envelope isn't so environmental, come to think of it, and money could just be left behind without any decorum to it, I suppose....) If looking for a reasonably priced hotel, I would most definitely return to this one; the staff members were wonderful!!!

We had to leavevand go to another hotel... there was a chemical smell of carpet cleaner powder in the room... we began coughing almost immediately... tub was dripping... there was mildew on the curtains... we will never stay at a Days Inn again

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Impressed with the quality of the bed and bedding, very comfortable. Would have liked healthier choices for breakfast but understand need for packaged items. All staff we encountered were ver nice and friendly. Lot of fresh towels in bathroom.

Weekend Getaway

The wait to check in was a little long but the lady was really nice and friendly once she was able to help us. The room was clean.
