The Graham Georgetown

The staff was lovely. A The gentleman at the front desk was delightful - welcoming, pleasant, and attentive. The doorman was very kind as well. Our waitress on the rooftop was lovely and the drinks were fantastic. All around great experience with the staff. As far as the accommodations, I hate to say that I was underwhelmed and disappointed. Granted, you pay for location, however, for as expensive as the room was ($500/night), and considering this is a 4 star hotel, I was expecting more. The room was small, which isn’t a big deal, but the view was awful (looked out on a broken down, filthy pool), there was no rack to put your luggage down on, the bedding was just ok, but, worst of all, the bathroom door was a sliding door that didn’t close fully, so anyone standing in the hallway could see straight into the bathroom toilet. No privacy whatsoever. I don’t care how close you are w/ your fellow travelers, everyone wants privacy in the bathroom. The door handle on the bathroom door was also not fixed on well and had screws poking out. I thought about calling asking for a new room, but we’d already unpacked/settled in and just wanted to go out on the town. Another thing is that no one came to make the beds the following day. We didn’t have a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door. While I don’t need new sheets/towels, just having the room tidied up would have been nice. With a little more attention to detail, this would be more in line with a 4 star experience.

We were really disappointed by our stay at the Graham. When we got to our room, the ceiling was leaking, the floor was soaking wet, the heat was blasting at an unbearable temperature, and the shower wasn't working. They ended up fixing most of our problems (floor stayed wet all weekend) but the service was pretty poor and it took a lot of pushing on our end. This is not the experience I would expect for a hotel with such a high rating. This is surely not a luxury or 4/5 star hotel

Not a great stay

Air conditioner is broken and the room is hot. I had to call about it and they informed me about the issue, which was not mentioned when I checked in... I was told it would be fixed before the evening and it was not. There are also bugs everywhere in my room, it may be from the window being open (it was open when I arrived due to the air conditioning issue I was no).

Boutique hotel. on a quiet street in Georgetown. Friendly, very accommodating staff. Room was clean with a well-designed layout, recently updated. Would have given this hotel max smiles, but the HVAC system did not cool to its temp set point. This appears to be an ongoing system problem not isolated to individual rooms Staff provided a large fan to move the air. Inquire before you reserve. Rooftop bar has excellent views of Georgetown and very friendly staff.

More 2+ star then 3 or 4 star….

The AC was broken in room and not controlled on room. The shower was broken as well. Graham is in a solid Georgetown location but it’s had a low end, superficial renovation in recent past with antiquated infrastructure. It has a good looking exterior and very nice staff. Even the cheap food/soda at front desk and old phone system etc - just has low end feel. Add to that no AC in room when it’s 75 degrees and totally broken shower?! It’s was difficult stay to say the least.

Breakfast room in basement is more a cellar bar, not appropriate for breakfast, and choices limited. Rooftop bar is great, but menu shows only about half the available drinks options.

Well organized, small, nice amenities, rooftop bar/dining, Rathskeller-like restaurant at bottom of hotel, which is cozy and nice. Location is superb. Heart of Georgetown. Shops and restaurants all around. Very pleasant staff.

Overall fine experience, few things: the gym is "under construction" that is disappointing esp give the nightly rate. The lighting in the room and bathroom is like a spot light. You go instantly from dark to strobe light. There should be a dimmer. No milk with your coffee just cream. I waited. They brought it up but it's a no brainer to have milk in the coffee area. I was put in a room that is close proximity directly on the street and next to the elevator - it was loud. A nice woman at the front desk was going to be move me by i was too exhausted to get out of bed and change rooms at that point.
