El Cozumeleño Beach Resort - All Inclusive

Two major disappointments we experienced at this property: 1) The mattress was lumpy and almost as hard as a concrete floor. 2) The food options are extremely limited and had no flavor. On a good note the staff are amazing and spoke English quite well. They put a lot of back breaking effort into keeping the beach clear of seaweed.

The employees were great for the most part. Very very slow check-in. The rooms need some serious updating. The son of the owner of hotel paraded around in a goofy suites in the 90 degree weather, and while i was waiting for a little shop to fix a bracelet i just bought and spent way too much money on, demanded that i wait for him to be assisted before the guy could fix my bracelet. Seriously dude, youre better than those staying and spending money at your hotel? Wont be back.

Loved the property, small and comfortable, easy to enjoy all the amenities and activities offered. Also took a day where I napped poolside, on the beach, and hammock without interruptions! Great beach with excellent snorkeling on site, and rustic beach to explore. Limited food options, but everything I ate was tasty, loved getting tacos in the morning and ordering lunch off the menu poolside. Amazing staff that were friendly and hard working. Great concierge that arranged stress free rental car and snorkeling excursion right on site, made everything a breeze. Resort is well cared for, but would love to see rooms get an update (beds especially!) But great balcony and all rooms had at least a partial ocean view, we'll visit again, LOVE the island!

This property did not meet even the most basic of expectations. With 4 people in our room, having four towels should be an easy request to meet. We never had more than one wash cloth when we had one. We had a floor mat and hand towel occasionally. The first night our sink was clogged. They fixed it right away. However, when we told them about the leaking air conditioner, it was never fixed and required one of our top few towels to keep from becoming a slippery mess. The property is old and in great need of repair. The hot tubs had cold water, not even lukewarm water. This all inclusive had only well alcohol that they still only splashed in drinks. I asked for a repasado straight on the rocks. They brought me what tasted like VSOP with a splash of coke. The food was not very good or flavorful. The service was lacking. What I did enjoy was the snorkeling. It was included and they allowed you to use the equipment for an hour each day. I would stay here again if paid to do so.

Our room 1905 was excellent, bed very comfortable and the air was great, Food was average, the hot tub did not work! Other than that it was excellent!!

Like the location...Island vibe.......view of ocean......staff was polite and very friendly.......food lacked freshness and quality.......to many choices of same foods....rotated thoughout the day.....blan tasting at best.....some fresh BBQ or pizza oven would of been nice.....very watered down drinks...no TOP shelf Alcohol, no bottled beer...only Dosiskies on tap..... No fridge in rooms.....a few cold beverages in room would of been a plus......cold can sodas instead on flat fountain soda......disgusting tasting.....coffee and stale boxed flat milk.....only thing good was the cold water stations by a cold fresh drink of water.... Resort in General needs an upgrade...and a throughly cleaning of in need of serious repairs....staff was fantastic and energetic....... Its about what We expected after booking and rearing a few reviews......Also decent beach but with a serios sea weed problem that washes up nighty onto the beach area.......workers work way to hard to rake it and wheel barrel it of of try to bury it to be eashed back out to sea......another soution is needed......net it possibly......resort was pretty dirty.......I usually dont complain......Taxis drivers take avandage of tourist......play dumb, but very street smart and intelligent.....understand and try to take advandage for $.......a resort shuttle in price would be a asset.....some type of shuttle.....take care of quest better.......charge more if you have too.....but be honest......

Expedia advertises the property as having accessible bathrooms and in-room accessibility “in select rooms” and to contact hotel after making reservation. When I did contact the hotel they advised that they have NO accessible in-room bathrooms. Judging from the website pictures (and the price) I decided to keep the reservation. I brought my own shower chair and toilet grab bars. As seen in the hotel pictures, the shower does have a grab bar on the far wall but no handheld. I would also note that the access to the toilet/shower area was very tight in the Go-Chair and would have been impossible in my Permobil power chair. I would not have been able to use the bathroom or shower without my wife’s assistance. Of note, NONE of the public men’s bathrooms in the lobby and pool area have wheelchair accessible stalls. My wife said that the women’s bathroom in the lobby does. The ramps around the grounds vary. The slopes are not to ADA standards by any means and I would consider them more utility ramps than wheelchair ramps. The one leading to the covered pool is very steep with an incline of 21 degrees (more than 4 times the ADA standard of 4.76 degrees) and was very difficult to go up and scary to go down. There is no wheelchair access to the beach. None of the pools have lifts. The restaurant seating area has steps and no ramp access.
