If you truly want to experience a non grossly globalized Mexican beach town (unlike Tulum) this is the place to be!! El Merkadito is on the beach and has DELICIOUS food (I go multiple times each trip). The Local Coffee shop has great breakfast/coffee

All the snorkelling tours from cancun come to puerto Morelos. This just goes to show how wonderful the water and beaches are. The water is calmer here because of the reef break. Better for families and small children than cancun is. Safer waters.

The quiet fishing village is morphing into a vibrant tourist destination with lots of restaurants, hotels, and rentals of all sorts. Near the end of the high season there was no place to park, sidewalks were crowded, and the beach was busy.

We did a tequila tasting with food pairings at Sirenas and it was great! There are a lot of good taco places on the Colonia side if you want to create your own taco tour:-)

The town of Puerto Morelos is worth a visit while it lasts. Lots of development happening on the port side. It will be just another Cancun or Playa in a few years.

The area is a cute little fishing village that is quaint but has grown over the years with more and more tourism and has become more crowded. Mexico and general has also become more expensive shockingly. Prices were on par or more expensive than US.

Puerto Morelos is low key so if that's what you're after then it's perfect. The people are very nice, many great restaurants and also very safe. The Ki Restaurant next to the hotel has the best tacos ever. It's not Cancún but on a good way.
"Great all-inclusive resort for families!
1. Location and Transport - About 20-30 mins from airport. Resort did not have a shuttle, so I'd suggest pre-booking transportation to hotel as the taxi services at the airport will rip you off.
2. Check in - Quick. Front desk was helpful/accommodating. Room wasn't ready when we arrived but we just got a drink from the lobby bar while we waited. Diego took good care of our luggage (and us the whole visit!).
3. Rooms - Spacious, clean and had a wonderful view of the ocean and the pools. We were in a room on the bridge. Mini fridged stocked.
4. Activities- Plenty for kids to do including trampoline park, foos ball, movie theatre (with AC) as well as the multiple pools. Waterpark was a hit for the first few days with our kids and then they enjoyed swimming in the other pools. Kids also enjoyed tennis and mini-golf. The zip line was being fixed while we were there so we didn't get a chance to try that. There were poolside and beachside activities throughout the day.
5. Food - Buffet was great. Plenty of choices. The Mexican and steak restaurants were our favourite of the three restaurants on site. My wife and I tried the French restaurant (adults only). It was good. Not my favourite but my wife enjoyed. Poolside snacks were what they are at most resorts - fried and delicious!
6. Excursions - Gaby and Roberto were helpful in booking our Chichen Itza + cenote excursion. Highly recommend! We also booked a free Playa del Carmen day trip."

"we’ve just returned from a group trip, I can happily say — we had no complaints!
We had visited this resort about 7 years ago when it was still just one resort. I didn’t realize Secrets had taken over the original Exhale area when I booked with Exhale again. Maybe Secrets could be considered the “nicer” option, but honestly, I was more than happy with what we had.
The Exhale Lounge staff were great — they helped us book hydrotherapy right when we checked in, which was smart because spots were already filling up for the day we wanted. We used the Exhale pool once but mostly stayed with our group throughout the resort.
We had an Exhale ocean view room, which I thought was perfect since we weren’t really in our room much to need a better view. The bed was comfortable. The shower is probably a favorite.
The beach was as expected and had a bit more to be desired if you are a beach person, but previous posts and having been here before it is what it is. The resort does a great job maintaining it as much as they can.
Breakfast at Bites was really good, but we also enjoyed eating in our room using the in-app room service and grabbing light breakfast bites from the lounge. Lunch was mostly pizza by the beach (always a win), mixed with snacks from the Exhale Lounge throughout the day. And Bingo with Eric by the beach while we ate was a good time!
Dinners were great across the board, but my favorite was the buffet-style dinner by the Energy Pool, which included a fire show — such"
