Very friendly town and the high spot was a seal watching boat from the yacht club, with Neil and his daughter Isobel, of Adventures Marine. The trip to Governors island was brilliant- we got really close to the seals. A great trip!

Every place was easy to get to and close to the harbour where we saw a cruise ship in and tasted fresh oysters. It would be better if we were there when more stores were open but not quite the tourist season.

"I had an incredible experience staying at The Great George. From the moment I arrived to the day I checked out, everything was simply perfect.
The staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable — a real haven to relax in after a long day.
The facilities were top-notch, and it’s clear that the hotel is maintained with a lot of care and attention to detail.
I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a smooth, comfortable, and enjoyable hotel experience. Truly a five-star stay in every way!
A special thank you to the staff member who kindly packed me a breakfast to go when I had to leave early for a morning golf round — such a thoughtful touch that really made a difference.
