Vila Nova de Gaia is well known for its port, while top attractions include Porto Historic Center. This luxury city has something for everyone including sights like El Corte Inglés de Gaia and Sandeman Cellars.
Such a charming neighborhood/city just on the other side of the bridge into the heart of Porto. Everything is so close and so walkable. The port wine cellars and cable car are in Gaia along the river, and walking into Porto takes but just minutes.

Excellent
This is in a hilly area so if you don't like walking up steep slopes or lots of steps then you will want transportation to get around. You can reduce the amount of slopes by walking via the Jardim do Morro and cross the upper bridge

Culturally diverse and fun. Especially in the early evenings. Lots of people out walking for work? Evening s. Lots of young(er) people 16-35. Cafes and eateries on both sides of the river and a City viewing skytram on the Southside.

Everything you needed on your door step with just a 15min walk across the river.
"Hotel Vinci is an excellent hotel. The location and view is breathtaking. You would need to walk to central locations, however, the train is right outside the hotel. We walked everywhere. It’s the best way to see the area. The hotel is on the river. Make sure to get a room in the higher floors to get a view. "

"Excellent location with the best views of Porto from our room.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful.
Our breakfast was excellent.
The hotel has a wine cellar for tours, it also offers tours and other services (at discounted rates).
I'd definitely stay again if back in Porto."
